    1. It’s a European version of Haiku. The rules are looser when you write in English. Some people stick to three lines of 5/7/5 syllables. I do if it sounds right. Otherwise they have a natural theme and there’s supposed to be a hinge element, but I don’t always get that. It’s a good framework for short images.

    Sorry Jane, I couldn’t resist. I always equate seagulls hanging around when one has fish and chips at the beach. Your haiku is very good BTW.
