The watcher on the strand

In the sedge a curlew
in the house a child
on the sea a tempest
tossing the waves so wild.

On the strand a watcher
on the swell a sail
on the roof a raven
round the hearth a tale.

In the tale a grieving
in the heart a stone
in the rain a keening
where the watcher stands alone.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. I don’t much like the idea of sending stuff to people who haven’t asked to receive it, but it isn’t as if I’m trying to sell double glazing or car insurance.

      2. If they don’t want it they’ll soon let you know. Now about that double glazing quote? 🙂
