Lay me down

Andrea_Mantegna_096

Lay me down in the meadow grass
Beneath a leafy tree
And whisper me lies about the life
You see for you and me.
Fill my mouth with promises
While I watch the clouds and dream
And let me pretend your sugared words
Are all you make them seem.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. Reminds me of a song by Johnny Lang, Lie To Me. I don’t need the truth all the time. Sugared words sometimes are nice.
