Haiku challenge: Bridge & Move

A late entry to Ronovan’s haiku challenge, but I finally did it. What looked like an easy prompt turned out to be quite difficult—for me anyway. Thanks, Ronovan for making my brain work so hard!

The day the bridge fell
river ran free unfettered
eternal motion.

Bridge spans the gulf
stars wheel in endless movement
bringing dreams to birth.

On the bridge light moves
across the rushing river
morning star fading.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I especially love ‘bringing dreams to birth’ and ‘morning star fading’. My special name for my daughter is Bright Morning Star, as this is what I saw as I looked out of the window just after she was born.
