A semi-circular poem inspired by dog-walking after the first autumn rain.

The lovely watercolour is by Eduard Tomek

After the stormy night,
Bright morning glitters on the field,
Healed the scars left by the rain,
Pain of your leaving washed away.
Stay with me in this dawning,
Morning sunlight,
Right the harsh words spoken in heat,
Sweet memories linger in a rain-washed field.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
