Morale boosting exercise, Kim. People want to feel part of something that will keep them safe. I’m not naturally a jingoist or a raging patriote, but at times like this, what keeps people together is symbolism.

This morning we heard of all the arrests and the arms caches that were found over the weekend in different places all over France, down to single weapons and stashes of cannabis. It made me feel glad that I live in a country where holding a single firearm is suspicious.
