On the beach

On the beach

in the dark of night

whispering to the waves

sharing secrets with the sea

while the stars look away

and the bottles bob

with their passionate notes

that no one will read.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. Interesting poem. I haven’t thought about ‘message in a bottle’ for ages. I remember that a few years ago, a bottle was actually found on a shoreline. The specific details escape me.

      1. It means that I send them and live in hope of finding them when I walk the beach everyday. Hope has never receded in all the years. I just know I’ll find one some day ~ maybe tomorrow.
