A cascade poem for the Secret Keeper’s writing prompt. The words to use are:

At the close of day,

tender pigments tint

the canvas of the sky.

Your face in darkness lies,

pale where shadows fall,

at the close of day.

Dayโ€™s illusions fade,

monochrome revealed, that

tender pigments tint.

Pride keeps pain at bay,

as slowly night bestars

the canvas of the sky.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. As a piece of work I am pleased with it, and even a bit proud. As a poem I’m sure critics would say it’s derivative juvenile crap, but I don’t care. I like it ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Maybe they wouldn’t say it, but they’d think it. It doesn’t bother me. I don’t understand a lot of modern poetry just like I don’t understand modern ‘serious’ music or contemporary art. Usually anything called ‘experimental’ goes right over my head!

      1. It was tender because there was nothing left…:)
Thank you for the weekly challenge, and I hope you’re feeling better now.
