No direction

This is a combination of yesterday’s and today’s Daily Post prompts: perfection and aimless.

Charles_Courtney_Curran_-_A_Breezy_Day

In this wind there is no direction,

Blowing across the city’s rooftops,

Rose bows down in its pure perfection.

In this wind there is no direction,

In its wild voice not the least inflection,

Not satisfied till the last rose petal drops.

In this wind there is no direction,

Blowing across the city’s rooftops.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I like the idea of the aimless wind, and yet you managed to subdue it in a triolet. 🙂
I agree the painting is wonderful. I may have to steal it for a prompt someday.

    1. I wasn’t sure about this triolet. Sometimes I just can’t get that twist of meaning in it. Can’t be bothered working at it either! The link to the painting’s wiki page is in the image. If you use it, I’d love to read the poem 🙂
