Haiku challenge: Summer & Fun

I’ve somewhat perverted Ronovan’s word choice this week—fun being a word I don’t find particularly poetic. Just me. I have my preferences.

Happiness lingers

long after summer swallows

fly south with the sun.

Joy in a new bird

safely nurtured through spring floods

into fat summer.

Gaiety runs wild

rampant in sun-kissed roses

summer is coming.
