Leave me just

The Daily Post prompt is: deprive

Charles_W._Hawthorne_-_Young_man_and_woman

Take away the moonlight

and the starlight and the sunlight,

but leave me just the lovelight

in your eyes so dear.

Take away the birdsong

and the folksong and the plainsong,

but leave me just your lovesong,

that’s all I need to hear.

Take away the rain’s touch

and the sun’s touch and the wind’s touch,

but leave me just your hand’s touch

so that I can feel you near.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. Thanks. I’ll probably forget again. We passed a Greyhound bus, and I knew he wasn’t a greyhound, but something similar. (Of course, I know Finbar is unique.) 🙂

      2. Finbar is unique, thank goodness—one like him is quite enough. Galgos are lighter than greyhounds, not so powerful and never quite reach the same speeds, but they can run for much longer. marathon runners rather than sprinters.
