Cloud

A rondolet for the Daily Post prompt: clouds.

Tears cloud my eyes,

Your ship is leaving, crowds waving.

Tears cloud my eyes,

As the sails swell, the prow turns west,

Into the sunset, face afire,

I can’t see if you are waving,

Tears cloud my eyes.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I like how you used “cloud.” My favorite lines: “As the sails swell, the prow turns west,/Into the sunset, face afire,/ I can’t see if you are waving,” I like the ambiguity of face afire–the ship’s or the person’s?

Lovely painting, too! (We both seem to be hooked on ships and seas.) 🙂
