Orange sky

A minute poem for the Secret Keeper’s writing prompt. The words to use are:

GONE | CHANGE | PRETEND | STRANGE | LIFE

I begged the west wind not to change,

The sky was strange:

Orange billows,

Satin pillows,

Pretending night would bring you here,

When stars appear,

But with the dawn,

The dream was gone.

The days are long that make a life,

And cares are rife.

I watch the sky;

I will not cry.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
