“They have to be kidding,” the commander chuckled into the radio. “Don’t they know we’ve been here before, back on Earth?”

Black star-filled sky above their heads and pale dust beneath their feet, his men strung themselves out along the desolate ridge, hefted their weapons and trudged towards the alien settlement.

In a distant observation tower, another commander watched the ridiculous invaders approach the historical simulation and prepared to wipe their intrusive presence from the planet. “Don’t they know we’ve been here before?” he chuckled to himself.
