From the edge

For the Secret Keeper’s writing prompt, a pantoum (why not?) using the words:

WATCH | EDGE | PROOF | PAUSE | SOOTH

I cheated a bit and used soothe instead of sooth.

I stop and pause upon the edge,

Where all things end and fall apart,

For long ago I made a pledge,

I’ll follow you who stole my heart.

Where all things end and fall apart,

Though soft breeze tries to soothe the pain,

I’ll follow you who stole my heart,

Through golden clouds and silver rain.

Though soft breeze tries to soothe the pain,

The watching sky’s indifferent,

Through golden clouds and silver rain

The proof is plain, your love is spent.

The watching sky’s indifferent,

For long ago, I made a pledge.

The proof is plain, your love is spent,

I stop and pause upon the edge.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
