Black blood

Saturday is always magnet poetry day. Here is a pearl from the oracle.

Why worship deathscreen-shot-2016-11-19-at-17-43-37

and black blood?

Love life and red roses,

petals smooth and sweet,

or the chant of the purple sea,

spray shining like summer

through a thousand tiny moons.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. Thanks. I like pushing the words around, just wish there were a few more. It’s amazing the words that never come up, like ‘star’ or ‘wave’ and the verbs like ‘blow’ ‘leave’ ‘return’. I mean ‘chocolate’ is a very important word, but I can’t see it cropping up much in poetry.

  1. As said above, you have such a way with this. Maybe I have always considered inspiration incorrectly. as something that comes to us almost divinely. when it may in fact come in a myriad of forms (Twitter/magnets) either way you seem to use it as tarot, and create a future so worthy we lust for it. This is quite lovely my friend. You have made me gnash my teeth in envy and delight today and that is a very good thing. Such a talented woman. I love that. Bravo.

    1. The problem (criticism) I have with the magnetic poetry site is that there are really not that many words, and a lot of them I’d have to be desperate to use. Sometimes though the magnets do give some good lines.
