    1. Our provider, the biggest retailer for white goods in France, decided to shut up shop and close its internet service. The end came rather precipitously—it just stopped. It was with the best of motives I insisted we join them when they first launched into the internet business, David and Goliath, the little kid versus the big boys. It turned out to be a bad idea and they have now gone back to doing what they’re good at—selling washing machines.

      1. Seen it happen here in the UK. However, it sometimes can go the other way and they end up being so successful that they end up being swallowed up by one of the big internet companies who have one of the worse customer service records. Let’s hope they don’t sell washing machines that have built-in wifi. I’m sure it won’t be long.
