Come, pierce the darkness

This is a triolet for The Secret Keeper’s challenge. I managed to get all the words into one triolet, which I’m pleased about, but it took a lot of fiddling about with. I like the result though.

Come, pierce the darkness of the night—

As cold as stone, the room is still—

Oh rising sun, bathe all in light.

Come, pierce the darkness of the night,

The stage of ghost and spectral wight,

Bright rays of dawn; impose your will.

Come, pierce the darkness of the night,

As cold as stone. The room is still.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
