Time after time, the wild tide flows,

Blows the wild wind through the pelt of the earth.

Dearth of love, is what it says,

Days have long gone when humanity reigned.

Stained is all honour, the white-feathered heart,

Starting the horror of war without end.

Send in the dogs to fight over bones,

Stones will endure when the spilled blood has gone.

On the edge of the ocean crusted in rime,

Time after time, the wild tide flows.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. Imagine a serpent eating its own tail. The last word of each line rhymes with the first word of the next line and so on until the end is a repeat of the first line and the poem comes full circle.
