For the Secret Keeper’s weekly writing prompt. This week’s words are:
SPARK | TOUCH | TWIST | HEALTH | REST

The spark that touched the bud
made the flower burst,
a caught cascade of petals
that pour from boughs still bare,
black as winter, shiny ’neath the rain.
Rest a while, and let sap rise,
a fountain of goodness,
and tardy leaves unfurl
to curl about the blown blooms
before march winds scatter,
rain patter,
mud spatter,
the first spring glory.
I like the rhythm and rhyme of the last few lines that sound just like spring rain.
Thanks Merril. It’s what we’re getting today.
Gentle spring rains are nice, especially when they end and you smell flowers. 🙂
There’s not much out that smells yet, but I’m pleased to have a bit of rain as the chore of watering the plants has already begun.
Full of life, as spring should be.
Thanks Ken 🙂
This is so beautiful… Spring indeed, is here 🙂
Thank you! For the meteorologists, today is the first day of spring though you wouldn’t think so. It’s drizzly, grey and chilly.
