When all the blossom’s fallen

Using the NaPoWriMo prompt again today, to write a nature poem. Not really out of the ordinary for me. This is a triolet.

misty river bank

When all the blossom’s fallen, beauty’s soiled.

Along the banks that spring has pierced with green,

Will you be waiting ’neath new leaves uncoiled?

When all the blossom’s fallen, beauty’s soiled,

Like our dreams—so many trampled kingcups spoiled,

Shredded gold of all that might have been.

When all the blossom’s fallen, beauty’s soiled—

Will you be waiting ’neath new leaves uncoiled?

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
