Wind, ghosts and starlight

After I’d wiped away the tears of laughter at The Barking Beatles, the oracle sobered me up with some calming and soothing thoughts. One from each of four sets of magnets.

Wind whispers to the sky,Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 12.35.04

shot through with rose-purple,

and the moon, singing sleep songs,

shines on still waters,

spraying diamond rain

among the shadows.

Always blue are ghosts,Screen Shot 2017-05-13 at 14.45.21

never red,

for fire melts their velvet wings.

They dance in the dark,

sail slowly, flower-perfumed

to embrace eternity.

touched by starlight.

Morning takes wing

and some tiny wish

comes true.

to the blossom that falls

to earth, deep and dark.

Listen to the roots’ song,

sweet as the rose,

wild as the wind.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I love these, Jane. The Oracle was full of gentle, beautiful wisdom–singing moons, blue ghosts with fire-melted velvet wings, wishes. . . wonderful! I’m reading these early in the morning, and they are beautiful images to start my day!

    1. I was thrilled with them too! It’s so rare that she trots out a whole string of positive thoughts. I’m glad they helped get your day off to a good start ๐Ÿ™‚
