This is for Sacha Black’s writespiration challenge—52 words on the subject of: The secret you just discovered.
The letter slipped out of the book like a dry leaf veined with spidery writing of a bygone age. It was like unfolding a map to hidden treasure,
Forgive me, Gran,
treasure I was not intended to find.
Grandad. Written from his new life—the address obliterated by slashes of angry ink.
Reblogged this on O LADO ESCURO DA LUA.
Thank you!
Excellent Jane, so much to learn from this point.
Thank you, Michael 🙂
Excellently done!
Thank you again!
oooooh. Mannnnn you are so poetic even in your prose. Such a beautiful writer Jane. I hope you’re well?
I’m worn out to be honest. Organising house sale, purchase, architect, removal, packing, money… I’m glad you like the writing though 🙂
Where are you moving to? I’ve missed something along the way 😦
The back end of beyond. Rural with not much except running water for the moment. It’s going to be fun. Really. I hope…
Sounds like a writers paradise. My aunt lives in a similar place in Scotland. Her water isn’t even on the mains supply!
But does she have internet? The provider tells us we should be okay, but coverage is patchy out there hence the size of the old TV aerials. It needed a team and special equipment to take down the one on our roof and cut it into manageable portions to take away!
She does, but it is patchy too! OH My, why would you move somewhere without the internet?????? *shudder*
With a bit of luck we’ll get it. If not…I’ll probably shoot myself.
