Tanka Tuesday: Beauty

This is for Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday. on the theme of Music & Art.

Art, pale reflections—

the architecture of a rose,

blackbird’s simple song.

No man-made fabrication

fills my heart like these beauties.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. Thanks Colleen 🙂 The painting of the rose garden is Renoir’s second version. I prefer this one to the earlier one, the colours are more vibrant, less muted.

      1. Plastic arts like music, literature and poetry needs a certain amount of commentary to understand sometimes. I haven’t had a formal artistic education either, and a lot of modern art and music leaves me cold. The impressionists are easy for us to understand though 🙂

      2. I agree. It’s color and pattern that I love. The more mystical it looks the more I love it. It’s like someone partially clothed is aesthetically more pleasing to the eye then someone blatantly naked. It’s the illusion. 😊
