Tanka Tuesday: Ghost & Haunt

With the fallen leaves,

in the long grass, slug-haunted,

bowed with water weight,

summer’s ghost—I long for lost

cricket days of dry crackle.

  1. The poem works beautifully either way, but is that cricket as in the insect or the sport? Or is it meant to imply both?
