Haiku challenge: Lake & Calm

This trio is for Ronovan’s weekly challenge.

Death trembles the air

with brittle noise—still, this field,

lake of golden calm.

Night calm falls softly

in a lake of pale moonlight—

fox and owl listen.

In the lake’s calm depths

no light falls, no sharp sound snaps

the delicate peace.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
