Shadorma November #1: Fluttering

After the intensity of Yeats, the Shadorma is a light, ethereal treat. Every day of this month Eliot of Along the Interstice is posting a Shadorma and is inviting anyone who is interested to do the same. You can find how to write a Shadorma on his blog. Then all you have to do is write one.

This is mine.

Fluttering,

against the closed door,

wing beats break,

soft and sad.

Beyond the bars there’s no cage

only the blue air.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.
