Haiku challenge: Evergreen first snow

I’m going to post a lot today because it’s my birthday and I’ll post if I want to. First up, a couple of cold, cold haiku for Frank Tassone’s challenge, one I never seem to see.

First snow settles on

evergreen, everdark firs—

white colder than black.

In the dim dark woods,

first snow, cold ghost drifts, whisper,

pure white, nevergreen.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. Today, the main projects are keeping warm, admiring the sunshine, eating some of the stuff from the freezer before it goes off (the fridge has stopped working, too cold in the kitchen) and doing lots of writing. Not too bad.

  1. Happy Birthday, Jane! (Mine is later this week.)
Hope you have a wonderful day.
I may have to catch up with your posts later, as I will be indisposed for most of the day.
Your haiku fit how it looks here right now.
