Acorn cups empty,
oak mast fallen, carpeting
dry earth. No bells ring.
Once, this time was electric,
the past chimes with memories.

#Haiku Happenings #1 (12/12/17): Jane Dougherty’s latest #tanka for Colleen’s Tuesday #poetry challenge!
Thank you, Frank 🙂
My pleasure, Jane!
🙂
Acorns are magical. They always remind me of the fairy world. (K)
Yes, they are special, and each tree produces so many! In the autumn they fall in showers. Good winter fodder for lots of critters.
What, no pasta involved? 😉 I really liked this, a different take on the key words.
Thanks Trent 🙂 I went off at a tangent rather. Maybe I ought to try another one, with pasta…
I laughed when I saw your comment on Colleen’s post, so I had to check, just to see (I would have made here anyway, just sooner).
Pasta poetry. Why not?
Nicely done, Jane. I especially like the last line.
You always write and post yours before I’ve even seen the prompt! 🙂
You’d think it would the opposite since you’re closer to Colleen’s time zone than I am. The dverse responses always amaze me. The post hits my inbox at nine in the evening and even if I open it straight away, there are always several posts already up! How do they do it?
I always wonder about that, too. 🙂
Insider information?
🙂
Beautiful, Jane… I can always see your words! ❤
Thank you, Colleen 🙂
