Last Cherita day. I wasn’t sure that I was going to get along with this form, and it turned out that I have enjoyed writing cheritas. For tomorrow I’ll see if I can find another short form that is equally rewarding.
There will be no sun today
this last day of winter (promised)
when snow may fall (threatened).*
Grey swallows sound, light,
like a sated belly, stuffing
just another handful of chips.
*Edit: How’s that for accurate? The metéo predicted snow from 10 am and at 10.12 am there are little flakes of white stuff dropping out of the sky…like crumbs…
a lovely conclusion to a wonderful journey, Jane! 😀
Thank you, Frank 🙂
😇
Ha Ha! I see!
Glad that you shared these! 😊
It was a fun experience 🙂
😊
This form suits you–moments captured in time.
It’s always a surprise when the weather report is correct. (K)
It’s a form I like. I can see how you could get good at it, like haiku, once you’ve cracked the idea behind it.
The snow stopped on time. Now I’m waiting for the rain to start. It’s late.
Reblogged this on Die Erste Eslarner Zeitung – Aus und über Eslarn, sowie die bayerisch-tschechische Region!.
🙂
A wonderful conclusion to your month of writing Cherita (Cheritas?). Kerfe is right that you have captured moments in time with this form.
I did chuckle at the grey swallowing like a full belly. 😉
I’m probably a closet fattist (fatist?) but that glazed look you see on the faces of the very overweight as the hand goes back and forth from packet to mouth makes me think of a mindless weather system guzzling just because it can.
You took to the Cherita like a Duck to water or a toboggan to snow, well done 💜
Thank you, Willow! I did enjoy the Cherita despite doubts at the beginning. I think I might like the Florette too. It’s fiddly. I like fiddly 🙂
Yup I can see that 💜
