These three cinquains are for Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday prompt. We are to use synonyms of two words:

Charm & Time

pile in layers

of sedimented earth—

bog turf, primeval grass, fossil

This life

cloud-drifts graceful

as fawns, blossom blowing,

with slow rush of green sap rising,

to bloom.

ages, fading

colours like wan sunlight,

filigree of fallen leaves—peace

drops slow.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

      1. Lucky girl. We (finally) had a couple inches of wet snow this morning. I’ll take moisture any way we can get it. There have been quite a few fires springing up… never fun. ❤

      2. It’s not hot… We’re in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs. It’s desert prairie. I think our elevation is right around 7,000 feet. It’s dry for sure. We get those winds sweeping off the mountains – scary stuff. We haven’t had much moisture this winter. I’m hoping for spring rains. ❤
