Lovely, spring Tanka, Jane. Your words just make me feel good. π We’re still painting the upstairs. We’re getting there. Hugs. β€
You’ll be there before the summer π Thanks!
Oh, yes. We have to finish our bedroom and bathroom. Then, it’s the loft and the hallway. Lots of walls. But WOW does it look great!! β€
I’m sure it does. Keep plugging away at it. You’re getting there!
This is a poem for the senses, Jane. I feel like I can see and taste that sunshine! π
There are so many smells and tastes in the air now that the cold edge has gone, the winds have dropped and everybody is ploughing, planting, cutting grass and pruning…
Yes, indeed. I like to see the animals sniffing the air. π
Er, that was me…
Haha, I know, but I meant, I ALSO like to see my cats sniffing the air when I open the windows, and I imagine Finbar does it when you go outside. And just in general this time of year, when you see animals sniffing the air.
Of course, the windows are closed here now. It’s foggy, we’re supposed to get thunderstorms later–chance of snow and rain on Saturday. . .
Ha ha π Whenever there’s a bit of wind Finbar gets agitated. Smells, weather, the noise of the trees, all get to him. They do to me too, though I don’t get all the complicated smells in a strong wind.
One of our cats–the white one–does this thing where he opens his mouth sometimes to inhale more. He looks so weird. I know dogs can tell all sorts of things from sniffing, like all the places a person or other animal has been that day. It’s amazing.
I’ve seen our cats do that too. It’s as though they are tasting the smell. In general, I think dogs and cats have a sense of smell we can’t even imagine. Finbar will charge off across the field, zig-zagging for about thirty yards, then stick his face into a tiny latrine full of vole droppings!
Hahahaha. Who wouldn’t? π
π
Love this Jane “…golden, honey-poured sweetness of
sunlight.. ”
made me feel spring, finally.
Pat
Thanks Pat! Spring is powerful here π
Not here. It’s freezing here again today. I didn’t even check what the numbers were, I am so tired of it.
Well, I won’t rub it in then. Much as I’d like to π
Lol! Thank you.
π
This is the best news of the day so far! Thank you π
