Following up the line of thought that perfume brand names are all on the same message, I took Lillian’s idea and used it on a list of French perfume brand names.
La vie est belle
J’adore
La petite Robe noire
Sauvage
Eau des merveilles
L’air du temps
Terre
La nuit de l’homme
Mon paris
Rive Gauche
Habit noir
Luna
Chrome
L’instant
La nuit trésor
Intense
And I got this
À Paris, mon Paris,
ma rive gauche,
moi, en petite robe noire,
toi, en habit noir,
nous goutons
l’eau des merveilles,
et l’instant vibre,
intense comme la nuit trésor
cette nuit de l’homme,
toi en noir, sauvage,
j’adore—
la vie est belle.
Excellent and very very clever💜💜
The names just don’t give you much room for alternatives, do they?
That makes it even more clever😀
Yes, it is!
🙂
Nice 😉
Cheers 🙂
J’adore.
Louxor!
Jesus Christ.
Je déteste.
I’ve always thought it was funny 🙂
It’s not funny. It’s terrible.
Terribly funny?
NO.
Okay. Not funny.
French adds instant glamour and sexiness for us anglophones! nicely pulled together.
It does, doesn’t it? You could probably do the same with soap powder brand names and get the same result 🙂
go for it!
But would it be poetry?
Ah, Jane, what is poetry?
Almost anything it would seem 🙂
Reblogged this on Die Erste Eslarner Zeitung – Aus und über Eslarn, sowie die bayerisch-tschechische Region!.
🙂
Merci beaucoup Jane!
Un beau poème dans ma langue préférée! 😉 Michael
C’est rare que je me lance en Français. Trop facile de faire des gaffes impardonnables 🙂
And it worked beautifully ….
Thank you 🙂
