Today is world otter day. I don’t know any otters, but this little cat, daft as a brush, a sandwich short of a picnic, bonkers, batty and totally à l’ouest as we say over here, is as sweet as any sea otter.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. Aw, what a sweetie!

I’ve never heard à l’ouest used that way, interesting. Where or what or who in the west is supposed to be crazy, do you know?

      1. LOL… As long as you don’t mean us! Although living on the west coast (of the US), I wouldn’t be surprised if the east coasters took up the same saying. 😉

    1. We never know what’s going on in her head. Her expression never changes, it’s always completely wide-eyed and fixed, like an owl. And because of her motricity problem, she stomps along like a herd of elephants. Now that Trixie has a bell, we can hear them both coming

  2. Feline photo bomber! Adorable and even I as a life-long devotee of all things Otterly will concede that she’s a very good substitute!

    1. She has issues, but apart from the messy ones that come from having had her colon amputated when she was a kitten, they’re inoffensive. While Trixie waddles off to take up her hunting position in the ditch, Ninnie spends all day in the attic chasing cobwebs. And a mighty fine hunter she is too.
