Progress report and story time

I started on the third and final volume of my latest series of novels 25 days ago. So far, I’ve done better than I expected, currently at 55000 words and roughly half way there. It’s true I haven’t been around much and haven’t been following the prompts, but it means I should have a first draught ready by the end of July.

To compensate for the lack of fiction pieces, here is my prize-winning story In a blue barque published in Lucent Dreaming magazine. It’s a lovely magazine visually too.

Erratum: It has just been pointed out to me that the ‘free online edition’ does not include my story which is apparently pay to view only. Sorry about that. You’ll just have to admire the cover 😦

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. There are excuses and there are reasons. You have the best of reasns to be absence. You are excused (and I wil read this story when I am focussed and desirous of something to fill my hungry belly that sates me. You are good at that)

      1. My absolute respect lies with good editors. It is the toughest of roles and if you enjoy it tis a very good thing indeed!! Bon courage comme toujours πŸ™‚

      2. Well that is really disappointing. Never mind. There will be others and its still a wonderful achievement to have been published in the magazine at all.

      3. I don’t know why mine is the only story you can’t read. You can start it, but to read the whole thing you have to buy the magazine. I’ve never seen that before.

  2. Congratulations on your progress–and on the story. I read part of it, then got a message I had to purchase the magazine to continue reading. I liked what I read, but I was on my way out, so didn’t have a chance to check out the purchase. I’ll go back and see. πŸ™‚

      1. It’s ok, you don’t want to put your editor out of work! Your output is incredible, and inspiring. I’ve not been around these parts much for ages, but nice to see you here!

      2. It’s nice to see you back! I’m cutting down on output, trying to stay focused on the job in handβ€”as well as that minor irritation called life that won’t pipe down πŸ™‚

  3. 55000! That’s so amazing! Congratulations! Lucient Dreaming looks so dreamy. I want to buy one, and hug so much. Also read your story there! I hope I will buy it soon. Keep going, we are with you!
