Daily word count achieved = poetry treat. A tritina for the Secret Keeper’s writing challenge. The words:
DOWNPOUR | GENTLE | SHOOT | PEAK | YIELD
No gentle downpour this, of cooling rain,
But shafts of heat, sun-spears that bring us low,
From heights of haze, the shimmer falls.
Blue, the water colour of the river falls,
Silver, sharp, a tingle on the skin, the rain,
Red-gold, the sun at evening, dropping low.
As burning day gives way to night below,
The touch of evening, gentle on skin falls,
Almost as silver cool, moon pale, as rain.
Rain, with low sounds, falls.
This is stunning 💜
Thank you! I like the way this one came out 🙂
It’s beautiful 💜
🙂
It IS stunning, Jane. I got such a sense of peace reading it–so thank you for that!
Congratulations on getting your word count done. I’m just getting started on work here. 🙂
Thank you! It’s too hot to do anything but stay indoors and think about…rain 🙂
🙂
We both seem to be in a rainy mood today.
I just have another load of sheets to wash, then it can rain as much as it likes 🙂
Send me some sunshine. I’m drowning here.
Damn cranky weather. How many degrees would you like? I can spare 10°C if you could use them.
10 will do. I’ll be waiting.
Can it wait till Sunday? This anticyclone will be hell to shift.
Right away or no deal.
Thursday?
You made it, Jane. There was plenty of sunshine for today. You do possess the magic wand, don’t you?
I’m glad you told me. I wasn’t sure it had worked 🙂
Reblogged this on Reena Saxena.
Thank you Reena!
Great Jane! Its really “cooling down” these days. Also possible as a poetical advertising for the rum label with the bat? 😉 Thank you very much, and have a great week ahead. Michael
I worked with South Americans. They hated that particular brand and only drank Havana Club 🙂 Have a wonderful week too. Maybe our weather will cool down too.
Hello Jane! Oh i know that. 😉 The rivalry often ist stronger than the taste. Thank you Jane! A little bit cooling done could not harm. Michael
No, I’d be grateful for it 🙂
I can see it and feel it…beautiful. (K)
Thank you. The words flowed in this one, like rain, I suppose.
Wonderful poem, Jane! Such a gentle feeling it has.
Thanks Jay. Rain is soothing.
