For Sarah’s language of flowers dverse prompt. Rosemary for remembrance.

In the parched garden,

you have left banks of rosemary,

brittle-needled, pungent pins.

I wander there still,

beneath the shimmering sun

with bees and cicadas singing,

wreathed in the oily scent

that clings forever.

Left but unforgotten.

You have planted deep.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. Rosemary for remembering….yes. Love can run deep….memories planted that continue to bloom, if only in our minds. “brittle-needled, pungent pins” —
    A wonderful write.
