I wrote a few haiku and decided on this one mainly because it’s a standard size (5/7/5) and it has all the twiddly bits, kigo and whatnot.
If you’d like to enter a haiku, here’s the place to do it.
rain of summer stars
falls soft on the speckled earth—
flutter of owl’s wings
As I said over there, I can imagine the stars scattered by the owl’s wings.
Thanks Ken. Have you been watching the shooting stars? Shooting stars with a background music of owls hooting is magical.
I have 50-60 ft. trees within 20 feet of my house, on three sides. Of course, the one open side is in the wrong direction, and that open area (a cul-de-sac) has too much incidental light. The damn ticks and mosquitoes are so prevalent in this area that going out at night in open fields is a challenge. I, know – excuses! 😦
I cheated. After a couple of nights being bombarded by rhinoceros beetles I watched from indoors. I don’t mind mosquitoes, but I hate those huge beetles.
Perfect! 💜
Thank you!
😊😀
