Below the earth

are our feet planted,

rooted in this time and place—

we watch the stars,

still as this night

and the windless trees.

      1. Glorious summer sounds good. It’s cooler here now, but we’ve got flood warnings. And then mid-week it’s supposed to get hot again (but still with rain in the forecast). I would like some warm days and cooler crisp nights that we should have now.
