Tanka Tuesday: Ghost & Hollow

This butterfly cinquain is for Colleen’s tanka Tuesday challenge.

Phantom

trees in the fog,

still after autumn gale,

drip damp into fallen leaves, while

I wait,

watch the rising sun’s golden burst,

filling dell and dark dale

with bright morning

promise.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. I love the contrast of the phantom trees and the sun filling dell and dark dale (the alliteration there is just woooonderful). Butterfly cinquain! ❤

      1. Given what special effects can do in the cinema and how blasé we’ve got about that, trying to write horror with blood and gore is probably doomed to failure.
