#Tanka Tuesday: Afraid & Grave

A butterfly cinquain for Colleen’s Tuesday prompt.

No fear

in the darkness

of the solemn earth where

time stops. In a world of beauty

they wait,

for all those behind the veil to

follow, where blue horses

run beneath a

clear sky.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. What lovely images, Jane. I love the “blue horses” and them being beyond the veil. Very otherworldly and mystical. ❤

      1. That’s why I’ve gone back to the old ways. I find so much more comfort there in nature, and remembering where we came from. ❤

      2. I know right? It’s so bizarre to me. I want to know what happened to my country!

      3. It’s the same everywhere. More and more people are following the lowest common denominators of humanity. They did it in the 30s, they’re doing it again. If there’s anything to be learnt from the past it’s that we don’t ‘make mistakes’, people are inherently nasty and selfish and follow any leader who comforts them in their nasty small-mindedness. And that goes for religious leaders too.

      4. You’re right. Our ancestors fought hard to save the world back then. It’s hard for me to ask them for help once again to fight this evil.
