So many have gone, so many faces. She could paper a wall with their photos. She places flowers by a single picture frame, leaves it empty. Her memory provides the images.
Oh I loved this Jane.
I hope it’s never me π
Bittersweet. Catches in the throat. (K)
I’ve known lots of old ladies with too much to remember.
So sad Jane ππ
Old people are often sad.
Yes indeed π
π¦
This could be my mom. π¦
π
What a lovely thought…leaving the frame empty to represent all those who have gone. While it is bittersweet, I find it a beautiful way to remember.
I rather liked the idea too. It avoids favouritism π
Yes. Quite tidy and expedient. My walls are filled with photos of the kids and grandkids…collecting dust.
My mother stuck whole batches of photos behind glass. It’s a good idea, makes a sort of modern tapestry.
Amazing!
π I don’t want it to be me, ever.
No, I wouldn’t want it to be me, either. But it was so powerfully succinct.
I feel we have to be. Life is so short…
Yes.
Wow! This packs a punch. Morose and musing.
Lonely old people are so sad!
I vow not to be lonely or sad, when I get old. Decades in the future. π
Me neither. Actually, it’s easier to vow not to get old π
Okay! I will if you do (vow to not get old, that is) π
Deal π
Simple, but so moving. A great tale. π
Thank you!
