Dark day

There’s probably a name for this padded out cinquain form.

Dark day

that starts in fog

weaves shadows at midday

where water puddles leaf-muddy

and ends in birdless cold

silent billows

of mist.

    1. Temperature’s been dropping all day. At least it wasn’t cold first thing—Finbar had an extremely urgent call of nature at 7.00am and I had to take him outside in my espadrilles and dressing gown. Can’t trust him to go on his own and come straight back.
