For the Daily Inkling’s flower power theme.
The force that drives the flower
is the power of the sun,
the thrusting molten rock in fusion
of deep earth fires.
Two furnaces strive,
two anvils, forging titans,
filling the universe with burgeoning stars
and billions of eyes to watch their ascension.
The culmination of this struggle,
burning gases, rocks
and the scintillation of stars—
a shaggy-maned dandelion.
“A shaggy-maned dandelion” – brilliant prose! Really paints a vivid picture.
Thank you! I’m in the middle of a dandelion invasion. They’re getting to me 🙂
Wonderful imagery Jane. The fire below and the fire above. How fragile everything is waiting to be consumed by fire.
We’re really on the brink, aren’t we? The flowers exploding with colour with their miniscule roots are a thin veneer.
Just wonderful!👌
Thank you!
I love nebulas…and the thought that their scattering of elements gives us life. A flower is just right as a metaphor. (K)
The Nasa site is my favourite one for just browsing. This rainbow galaxy is a new one on me. Looks just like an exotic flower opening.
It does! I haven’t seen that one before either.
Must be a new find.
Glad you like it 🙂
You really are seeing dandelions everywhere, but I agree it’s a great metaphor.
I love that rainbow nebula!
It’s a glorious one!
