#Tanka Tuesday: Follow & Lead

A cinquain for Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday. I’ve taken ‘lead’ to mean the metal, from that the colour it gives its name to, hence grey.

Grey skies

replace the blue,

spring storm brewing, trees creak,

dandelions close golden eyes

and wait.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. Thanks Pat ๐Ÿ™‚ Our weather forecast gave us about a fortnight of unbroken cloud and rain. I met the farmer who owns the field at the other side of the lane this morning, preparing to irrigate his beets. He said there would be no rain, it was going to be sunny as far as the eye can see. I swear the farmers get a different forecast to the rest of us.
