Yet the dark

 

All this growing and greening

spreading from root to stem

to flower

petals falling leaves unfurling

drawn sunwards

and yet the dark mud-stirred waters

still lap beneath the banks

shrouded in dead wood

ivy-festooned

where fungus grows.
