The quadrille prompt at dverse this week was the word ‘up’. Just for fun I have written one using the word ‘down’.
On downlands,
windblown with thistledown,
that rise and fall,
drowned in an ocean of mist,
I count the steps
to a tumbledown house
where a baby awaits
with downy head,
fledgling mine own,
crowned in rainbows,
the singing of birds
and wind-downed rose petals.
I love the fun you’ve had with “down”.. I found it uplifting actually (as I sit here around midday on a grey, rainy autumnal Sunday). Thank you, it was a treat to read!
Thanks Liz. I’m amusing myself taking a word and writing a quadrille to it. I’ve just posted another one.
Great art is always built by the difference. 😉 Well done, Jane! Best wishes, Michael
Thank you, Michael 🙂 I hope the sun shone for you this weekend.
