And then there is always

Dverse is back with a quadrille using the word, sun.

There are worries,

and those sitting, watching with unquiet eyes;

there are dark nights full of anguish

for those close, those too far away,

sadness in the stagnant pool

where traffic drone drowns

the song of the birds,

and there is the sun.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

  1. And we are fortunate to see that sun everyday, sharing warmth despite of what ails our world today. Thanks for being part of our journey Jane. Happy summer!!!

  2. Yes, in the midst of it all, the sun can brighten up a stagnant pool or it can cause more misery in the form of drought. We need it to survive but it can be oppressive.

  3. Lovely poem–there’s a melancholy to it–but yes, the sun. It’s going to be very hot here this week, but there is something about seeing the sun that makes the spirit rise, too.
