A shadorma for Colleen’s weekly challenge.

Limpid pools

still beneath the trees

where the stream

bends and bows.

Here the essence of life breathes

soft as duck feathers.

I used to do lots of things I didn't much enjoy. Now I am officially a writer. It's what I always wanted to be.

    1. It’s a very small spot, Colleen and I’m aware how fragile it is. It doesn’t take much, a farmer deciding to make a new dam, plough up his set-aside, or cut back the trees to ‘tidy up’ and you get a lot of homeless wildlife.

      1. It funny how people don’t realize the impact on the area. In my new backyard, I planted all native trees with the hope of bringing the birds and butterflies. We have to give back to the mother, however we can. And, yes… your pingback is good. ❤

    1. I go to this pool often, and see different things every time. Early June there was a duck with a string of ducklings on it. They drifted by into the overhanging trees and brambles and I haven’t seen them since. Nothing passes the same way twice.
