No king no master here

There is no king here

nor queen

life breathes equally

until death

likewise loves—

trees sway

scattering democratic shade

and golden sovereigns of sun.

Children grow in the gentle curve

of their mother’s embrace

feathered or furred

and we tread softly

breaking nothing

not even the silence.

      1. We could I think too. But the power structure has to be turned upside-down, and people have to be willing to work for it. Not just destroy and expect someone to pick up after them.

      2. That’s one of the things many of us have lost. Take away the least of our creature comforts and we’d follow any dictator who promised to get it back.
